Living and working in the countryside all our lives, Duncan’s family have been arable farmers for generations and Hannah’s life long butchers, we have a huge enthusiasm for the outdoor traditional way of living and farming and we love good food!
Unable to consistently source really good local meat products we became disillusioned with intensive rearing of livestock and meat production, we wanted to get back to traditional farming practices and values.
Starting on a cottage industry scale, we raised Gloucester Old Spots, butchering them ourselves, curing bacon, air drying hams and salamis, sausages and black puddings.
We were so taken aback by the unbelievable flavours we obtained, we decided to dedicate ourselves to breeding and butchering Rare Breed livestock the traditional way.
